30 Days of Thankfulness; Day 7

November 7, 2012

I am thankful that the elections are over, and we no longer have to endure the ridiculous slander and vulgarity that was supposed to be campaigning.  I’m not going to get all preachy or political, but simply say, “Thank God it’s over.”

No matter how far the distance, no matter how high the climb, we are unstoppable! Join us as we walk/ run/ride to raise funds for #BrailleAcrossAmerica
Today in our homeschooling day my little boy is starting his first Braille lesson. Jackson is not blind, but has a mama and sister who are. He wants to be able to write notes to his sister, and a Mother’s Day card to his mama in Braille.
Since I’m a sucker for alliteration and I had such a fantastic 6 mile Sunday filled with sensational smells, and springtime sounds, I was so excited to make today a 10 mile Tuesday. Instead I’m calling it tornado Tuesday from the crazy winds tormenting our allergies. Before The wind started teasing and tearing through, I was treated to a lap with these two.

There’s going to be some times where the road seems like it’s never going to end, when you feel like you want to throw up and cry. There’s going to be some times where you fall down, but you dust yourself off, get up, and get going again. Today’s bike ride was one of those days. Even though we’ve done this route A few times before, it seemed so much harder, and the hills so much higher. Through the heat, and the wind, and the pain, we pushed through, we conquered our goal, and we’re planning to do it again. Here’s to a brutal 35 mile bike ride on Day three of #BrailleAcrossAmerica. #Unstoppables
On day 2 of #BrailleAcrossAmerica we completed 6 miles for those beautiful six dots that make up a braille cell. Did you know that all six dots together represent the word, “For,” in contracted braille, or sometimes known as grade 2 Braille? I ram the six with Marley roller blading and Jackson on his bike.
